Derinat: composition of the drug and its properties

Derinat is an effective immunomodulatory agent
Derinat contains an active component - sodium deoxyribonucleate. Has auxiliary ingredients:

  • Sodium chloride
  • Water for injection

The effectiveness of the drug lies in the following pharmacological actions:

  • stimulates humoral and cellular immunity
  • reduces inflammation
  • reduces the growth and reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms
  • heals ulcers and wounds of various etiologies
  • activates tissue repair and regeneration

  • accelerates the healing process for various diseases
  • reduces the risk of nosocomial infection
  • derinat influences the immune system by stimulating T-helper cells and B-lymphocytes

Derinat is quickly metabolized in the human body, distributed through lymphatic vessels and entering tissues and organs. It accumulates most in the brain, lymph nodes, spleen, and thymus. Its smaller amount is in the stomach and liver. The medicine is partially excreted through defecation and urination. Complete removal of the active component from the body occurs after three days.

Derinat is a colorless liquid. Available in 2 forms:

  • Drops for nose and eyes
  • Solution for injection (5 ml ampoules)

Solution for external use (glass bottles of 10 ml and 20 ml, bottles with a spray nozzle, dropper bottles)

Derinat is stored in a dry place, inaccessible to children, away from direct sunlight. The drug, unopened at a temperature of no more than twenty degrees, lasts for five years. Once the bottle is opened, Derinat is recommended to be used within fourteen days.

The solution, used as a local and external remedy, is used in the form of eye drops, nasal drops, rinses, microenemas, applications and irrigations.

The drug is intended for the treatment of children (and it can be prescribed to children from the first day of life) and adult patients.

Treatment with Derinat can be combined with taking other medications in the form of tablets, ointments, and injection solutions.

Instructions for use of Derinat in the form of rinses, applications, irrigations and microenemas

Diseases of the oral mucosa are treated by rinsing with Derinat (one bottle of solution is enough for one or two rinses). The frequency of procedures is from 4 to 6 times a day. They must be done within 5-10 days.

For the treatment of chronic forms of inflammatory and infectious diseases in gynecology, intravaginal administration of the drug with irrigation of the cervix or intravaginal administration of tampons with the drug soaked in a solution are prescribed.

One procedure requires 5 ml of Derinat. The frequency of procedures is 1-2 per day, the course of treatment is from 10 to 14 days.

For hemorrhoids, microenemas into the rectum are indicated. For one procedure, take from 15 to 40 ml of solution. The duration of treatment is from 4 to 10 days.

For ophthalmological diseases accompanied by inflammatory and degenerative processes, Derinat is prescribed to be instilled into the eyes for 14-15 days, 2 or 3 times a day, one or two drops.

In case of necrosis of the skin and mucous membranes caused by irradiation, with difficult-to-heal wounds, trophic ulcers of various origins, frostbite, burns, gangrene, a sterile application bandage should be applied to the affected areas (using gauze folded in two layers) with a solution applied to it.

Applications are made 3-4 times during the day. It is also possible to treat lesions using Derinat in the form of a spray. The drug is sprayed 4 or 5 times a day. A single dose varies from 10 to 40 ml. The duration of treatment is from 1 to 3 months.

Derinat nasal drops: instructions for use

To prevent respiratory viral infections, Derinat nasal drops are instilled into each nasal passage, two at a time, with a frequency of use of 2 to 4 times a day. Duration of treatment is from one to two weeks.

When cold symptoms appear on the first day, it is recommended to instill two or three drops into each nasal passage every hour and a half. Then the treatment is continued by instilling two or three drops into each nasal passage for a month. The frequency of instillations is 3-4 times a day.

Treatment of inflammatory diseases of the paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity involves administering three to five drops into each nasal passage for one to two weeks, 4-6 times a day.

For acute nasal insufficiency, it is recommended to instill one or two drops into each nasal passage 6 times a day for six months.

Derinat injections: instructions for use

The average single dose of Derinat for an adult patient is 5 ml of a 1.5% solution (equivalent to 75 mg). To reduce pain, it is recommended to inject the drug into the muscle over one to two minutes, maintaining intervals of 24-72 hours between injections.

The frequency of injections and the interval between injections depend on the patient’s diagnosis. So, for ischemic disease, 10 injections are prescribed once every 2 or 3 days (every 48-72 hours). For patients with gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers, 5 injections are recommended with an interval of 48 hours.

For cancer patients - from 3 to 10 injections with an interval of 1-3 days. In andrology (for example, for prostatitis) and in gynecology (for fibroids, salpingitis, etc.) - 10 injections with an interval of 1-3 days .. Patients with tuberculosis - 10-15 injections with an interval of 1-2 days..

For acute inflammatory diseases, it is recommended to give from 3 to 5 injections with an interval of 1-3 days. For inflammatory diseases occurring in a chronic form, give 5 injections every 24 hours, then another 5 injections every 72 hours.

The instructions for use of Derinat for children indicate that the frequency of intramuscular injections of the solution for a child is the same as for an adult patient.

For children under two years of age, the average single dose of a 1.5% solution is 0.5 ml (corresponding to 7.5 mg). For children from 2 to 10 years old, a single dose is determined at the rate of 0.5 ml of solution for each year of life.

Structural analogues of Derinat are the drugs Panagen, Deoxynate, Sodium deoxyribonucleate.

There are a huge number of drugs on the market that have an effect similar to Derinat: Grippferon, Anaferon, Viferon, Orvirem, Oscillococcinum, etc.

Derinat or Grippferon - which is better?

This question often arises for many mothers who are trying to protect their children from influenza and ARVI. The drugs are incomplete analogues, but at the same time they are very similar in therapeutic effect and indications.

The composition and origin of the drugs vary greatly, but biologically active proteins in both Grippferon and Derinat have immunomodulatory, antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects.

Some are inclined to consider Derinat a slightly more effective medicine than Grippferon, it is a stronger immunomodulator and has a wider spectrum of action. This explains the presence of Derinat in a dosage form for intramuscular injection (Grippferon is available only in the form of drops and nasal spray).

It should be remembered, however, that in cases where health is involved, self-medication is unacceptable, and the final decision on prescribing a particular drug is made by the attending physician, because the same drug can act differently on different patients.

The action of the drug is aimed at increasing the activity of immune cells. For this reason, it is often prescribed to children prone to frequent colds.

Research and reviews of Derinat drops for children and Derinat injection solution indicate that both of these dosage forms are well tolerated by children, have virtually no contraindications and rarely cause unwanted side reactions.

This allows the drug to be used to treat children of different ages, including newborns from the first days of life.

To treat upper respiratory tract infections, children are prescribed inhalations with Derinat. Nasal drops for children are indicated as a therapeutic and prophylactic remedy for runny nose, sinusitis, ARVI, influenza, etc.

As a rule, for preventive purposes, 1-3 drops are instilled into each nasal passage. If the drug is used to treat a child, the dose is increased to 3-5 drops. The frequency of administration can be every hour or hour and a half.

If there are problems with the adenoids, a runny nose or sinusitis, the most effective method of treatment with Derinat is tamponing the nasal passages with a cotton swab soaked in the solution with a frequency of procedures 6 times a day.

If a child is susceptible to conjunctivitis and other purulent-inflammatory ophthalmological diseases, the instructions recommend instilling the solution into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye, 1-2 drops three times a day.

Inflammation of the oral mucosa or gums can be relieved by rinsing with Derinat. If the child is too small and does not know how to rinse his mouth, the mucous membrane is treated several times a day with gauze soaked in a solution.

In complex therapy, the solution is often prescribed for the treatment of vulvovaginitis in girls, accompanied by perianal itching and intestinal disorders of helminthiasis, wounds, burns and frostbite.

Injections and drops of Derinat during pregnancy and breastfeeding are prescribed according to vital signs and only in cases where it is not possible to find specific alternative methods for treating the disease.

Derinat during pregnancy and lactation

Only a doctor can prescribe the use of Derinat depending on the severity of the disease and the risk to the fetus

Before using Derinat to treat pregnant and nursing mothers, the patient should consult a specialist. To prescribe this drug, the doctor must take into account the benefits for the mother and the possible risks for the child.

This is explained by the fact that the use of Derinat has not been studied during pregnancy. That is why the instructions for using the drug insist on the need for individual consultation with a specialist. In addition, it is important for pregnant women to remember that any use of medications in the first trimester can negatively affect the formation of the fetus.

Archives: Frequently Asked Questions

Two weeks ago I was treated for ARVI. I was discharged to work, but I feel weak, get tired quickly and sweat. What is this connected with? Tell me, what can I do to treat it?

Good afternoon After suffering viral respiratory infections, the so-called asthenovegetative syndrome remains, which causes the symptoms you described. At the same time, the immune system, which is the body’s defense system against harmful factors, also suffers. During this period, a gentle regime and conditions are necessary that promote rapid recovery of the body - dosed exercise and rest, strict adherence to sleep and wakefulness. It is advisable to take multivitamins and restore the immune system. In this case, the drug Derinat in the form of a 0.25% solution for external use is useful. Take 2 drops in each nasal passage 3-4 times a day for 3-4 weeks.

A month ago I had a cold. I took medication and after a week I was healthy, but now I got sick again, and at the appointment the doctor diagnosed ARVI and, along with the usual treatment - antibiotics, painkillers, prescribed me Derinat drops. Is it worth taking it, since only antibiotics helped me well before?

Hello! Derinat is a multi-acting drug. It belongs to drugs that restore immunity, enhances the effect of other drugs, and relieves toxic manifestations of both the disease and the medications taken. In addition, you have a decrease in the body's defenses, most likely this is due to a weakened immune system, which should protect the body from various harmful factors. The drug Derinat will help you solve all these problems. Take 2-3 drops of a 0.25% solution of Derinat intranasally (in each nasal passage) 3-4 times a day for 3-4 weeks.

The child is 5 years old, has atopic dermatitis, recurrent aphthous stomatitis, and now has urticaria. The doctor recommended a one-time injection of Derinat 5 ml, I am afraid to give the injection, since allergies are clearly present in the form of cough and hives. I'm asking for advice

Hello, the doctor prescribes treatment for you based on the clinical picture of the disease, and if he had doubts about this therapy, he would not use Derinat. But if you have doubts, try using the local form of Derinat in the form of a 0.25% rinse solution to treat aphthous stomatitis, first making sure that the child tolerates Derinat well.

Hello, after what period of time can Derinat be instilled into a 10-month-old child with a runny nose (we already instilled it a month ago and it helped us).

Hello! You can safely instill Derinat into your baby if the need for it arises (for example, if you have a runny nose), because the drug is absolutely harmless and does not lose its effectiveness with frequent use. However, I would advise you to examine your child to establish the causes of his frequent illness (take a bacterial culture of swabs from the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract for the presence of pathogenic microflora, a stool test to study the repertoire of intestinal microflora and a blood test to exclude congenital defects of the immune system), because . More serious problems may be hidden under the mask of frequent ARVI.

A child goes to kindergarten. Is it possible to use derinat for prevention so that he does not pick up any sores?

Good afternoon!! Yes, of course, Derinat 0.25% solution is indicated for the prevention of colds in children. A number of clinical trials have been conducted that have proven the effectiveness of Derinat not only for prevention, but also for the treatment of influenza and colds.

A frequently ill child, 4 years old, adenoids removed a year ago. Derinat was prescribed in injections - 5 injections according to the scheme, 5 ml per single dose... Isn't this too high a dose for this age?

Alena, good afternoon!! According to the instructions, a single dose of Derinat 15 mg/ml in children from 2 to 10 years is determined at the rate of 0.5 ml per year of life. That is, in your case it is 2 ml. If the doctor prescribed 5 ml for your child, you need to clarify the prescription regimen again. Perhaps the doctor had special reasons for this.

Hello. My daughter is 7 months old, she recently got sick with an acute respiratory infection, she still has a runny nose, and only oxolinic ointment was put in her nose (pediatrician’s advice). Is it possible to use Derinat at this age, and is it necessary to rinse the nose first?

Galina, good afternoon!! Derinat is approved for use in children from the 1st day of life. Before use, first clear mucus from the child’s nasal passages.

Hello! The child is 2.5 years old. He goes to kindergarten, but often catches colds or suffers from viral diseases. Often it is necessary to resort to treatment with antibiotics. Will your drug help in this case? Thank you.

Vladimir, good afternoon!! Since the child belongs to the group of frequently ill children, he needs to use Derinat not only to treat the disease that has arisen, but also for preventive purposes in order to reduce the frequency and duration of colds and prevent the development of complications. In this regard, leading pediatricians who studied the effect of Derinat on a group of frequently ill children recommended the following regimen: before the start and directly during the epidemic season, use Derinat 2 drops in each nasal passage 2 times a day for 2 to 3 months.

Good evening! My 7-month-old daughter has one eye festering (not too much), the doctors said she needs to pierce the tear duct. I do a massage, apply ointment, but to no avail. But will derinat help me?

Love, good afternoon!! Derinat is used in ophthalmology for inflammatory diseases, but, nevertheless, you need to once again consult with your doctor about the advisability and regimen of using the drug Derinat.

Hello, after what period of time can Derinat be instilled into a 10-month-old child with a runny nose (we already instilled it a month ago and it helped us).

Reviews of Derinat nasal drops

Like all immunomodulatory drugs, Derinat activates and stimulates immune defense mechanisms. However, it does not fight the infection directly. For this reason, in many cases people describe the drug as ineffective. Indeed, if a person has a progressive respiratory disease, then instilling Derinat will not bring any visible benefit. For example, judging by the reviews, the effectiveness of its use in the inflammatory process in the sinuses is low.

Reviews of the preventive use of Derinat drops note a decrease in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections, as well as exacerbations of chronic pharyngitis, tonsillitis, rhinitis, and sinusitis.

Some reviews note rare cases of individual intolerance to medicinal drops. An allergic reaction to the drug is possible.

Reviews of Derinat for children

Mothers whose children often catch colds and also have enlarged adenoids note that pediatricians in most cases prescribe Derinat drops to the child. Reviews about the preventive use of the drug are positive. By increasing resistance to microbes accumulating in the nasopharynx, it is possible to:

  • reduce the number of inflammatory relapses and episodes of acute respiratory viral infections;
  • significantly improve the condition of the child’s nasopharyngeal mucosa.

Caution should be exercised when using Derinat in children with food allergies.

Reviews of Derinat for infants

There have been no negative reviews about the use of Derinat drops in infants. In some cases, for example, for bottle-fed children and premature babies, doctors recommend using the drug at the slightest runny nose.

Reviews note that Derinat is well tolerated by infants, as well as the absence of any adverse reactions.
